The Mini Game

Last week we worked with Flash. I really liked Flash because it was so easy and just like that if you test the movie it moves. I don't really think it was hard because the wiki would tell you exactly specifically what to do. All you got to do is just do what it says to do and it comes out right.The best part was how you can move the bunny by using the arrow keys and every time you ate the carrot you would get one point. The worst part was that sometimes it could get really frustrating. Sometimes you would put in the code and everything but nothing would happen. So that's basically what we did last week. And we did everything in this order. First we turned the carrot into a movie clip, then we moved the carrot from left to right, then we made the carrot move across the screen, then we made the bunny move by using the arrow keys, then we made the bunny eat the carrot, and then lastly we put the scoreboard so that every time you eat the carrot you get one point. Then on Friday we got a lesson from a lady that was speaking to us on the phone and we could see her Mini Game Template on the screen. Only the bad thing was that we had to do everything all over again.

FLASH

The past following days my class has been working with FLASH movie clips and ActionScripting. I like doing that because I can just type in a code and I can make two movie clips move. I find this code on my Wiki page and then I just copy & paste it onto FLASH. Then I Test the movie and just that easy those movie clips just move. That's what I think is really cool about FLASH to do just that and then the movie clip does a lot of stuff. What I think is kind of frustrating about FLASH is that sometimes I type in the codes but it doesnt't work. I try to get hel p from someone or just do the same thing they did but it still doesn't work. But when it does work I really like it. This has been a fun week for me in Technology because we get do some really cool stuff and it's so easy. I think it's even my favorite week here since the beginning of the semester. Every time I come to school I'm just looking forward to come to this class and get on FLASH. I hope this answers your question about how I feel about working FLASH. So I'm just feeling very comfortable doing this thing and I hope to keep on doing it for the rest of the week. That was my blog about FLASH.

My Game

In my game that I will create it will be about eliminating gang members. So the game will ask you what possible coordinates a gang could be at. If you get it right you advance and if you get it wrong you lose -50 points. It will go through 5 stages the street, a bank robbery, the high school, the police station, and then the boss where you have to save the governor. I'm hoping to persuade teenagers into not committing those mistakes. And also the consequences for being in gangs. I think people should play my game to show teenagers that say that "they're in a gang" and show that being in a gang is not cool. I chose this topic because I know that a lot of teenagers say that "they're in a gang" even though they're really not and show them that it's not cool to be in a gang. When those people play it I hope they stop saying all that stuff.

Christmas Break

Christmas break starts this Friday. This post is about what I will do this Christmas Break. This year my family and I will take our annual trip to Mexico. Every year we go to Mexico to spend Christmas. Almost every day before Christmas we do posadas. Our friends and our family come to our little house and start praying. On Christmas Eve at 12AM the kids get on the floor and put a baby Jesus on a blanket. Then by morning my relatives come back to show off what they got for Christmas. But I ususally don't get stuff like that because I don't believe in Santa Claus. But I would still get some money, at least, from my parents. So that's basically what I will be doing this year during my Christmas Break. On January 5th that's the day we will go back to school.

Tech Class

I am feeling great in Technology class because I get to type in my game ideas on the computer. I have learned a lot of new important facts about my topic. For example, the majority of gang members are teenagers. I have struggled mostly with answers to my questions. I do research my questions on the internet, but I don't get any answers. I want my teacher to encourage us more to focus so that we can get on task. What I would like to see change her is working a little more with movie clips because they were really fun. Lastly, my ideas that we should do here are to blog more. I want that because blogging is cool so that everyone can see it.

Toros Game

So yesterday we went on a field trip to see the Toros game. We got on the the bus at school, and we got to the Austin Convention Center. We went into the basketball court and the game started. We saw the cheerleaders, we hanged out with the bull, and plus we got to see the players. After that all of us who had money go to go to buy some snacks. I bought some popcorn for me and my friend. Even though I didn't pay attention to the game I was very entertained by the bull and the cheerleaders. It was the best field trip we had in 6th grade. But at the beginning of the game the Toros were winning and through most of the 2nd period. All the boys' favorite part without a doubt was the cheerleaders. We would get off the stands with the cheerleaders to take a picture with them, we also took a picture with the mascot. Also during most of the game they would play some music. Also when the Toros were defending the announcer would ask us to chant "DEFENSE, DEFENCE". Unfortunately, at the end of the game the Toros lost to the Vipers 88-97. So even though the Toros lost it was worth going to that game.

Globaloria This Week

Yesterday on 11-23-09 we were visited during our technology class. They taught us how to develop our game ideas and how to put math in it. When she came we started to take a look at the agenda. It said that a few students were going to present their game ideas. First me and Ricky had to present our game idea. It was okay and then Ms. Rachel got on the computer to help us on how to make it a little better. She also told us how to put math in it. After that I started to get so excited about my game. Now that Ms.Rachel made it a little better it's going to be awesome. Also if my game could be the best one it will be awesome if I get to go to D.C. Ms.Rachel really made it better I could win that trip. Globaloria is awesome because of the games we will create and now that all of us have our game ideas we will be so anxious to create those. We haven't started to learn yet how we will create them. But I just know that when we do we will be to over-excited to create our game. Then when people start playing it online it will be even better. Also yesterday Ms.Rachel then planned another game about teenage pregnancies. We chose teenage pregnancies because it's a big problem in our community. That is going to be our topic. We also chose it because we think it will really help us for our community meeting class. Yesterday was a great day in Globaloria and I loved presenting my game. I can't wait till' I make it and put it on the internet.
